5 Gifts Obama Could Give To Romney

Mitt Romney will join President Barack Obama for lunch at the White House on Thursday, in the first meeting between the two men since Obama defeated Romney on Election Day three weeks ago.

Shortly after the election, Romney criticized Obama, claiming that he won re-election by giving “gifts” to young voters, African-Americans, Latinos, and other groups that overwhelmingly voted for the president. Could this have been a sneering farewell to voters who Romney always disdained? Perhaps. Or maybe Romney was just jealous that he didn’t get any swag for himself.

To help bury the hatchet and move past the campaign, here are five gifts that Obama could give to Romney at their White House meeting:

A Copy Of Nate Silver’s New Book

With a copy of Silver’s new book, The Signal and the Noise, Romney will never again be blindsided by the results of an election.

A Secret Service Uniform

Mitt Romney has always loved playing dress-up, impersonating a police officer and a fireman in his youth. Perhaps a freshly pressed suit and an earpiece will help take Romney’s mind off of his electoral defeat.

A Donation To The New Jersey Democratic Party

A large donation in Romney’s honor could help unseat Governor Chris Christie, who many Republicans believe helped defeat Romney with his actions after Hurricane Sandy.

Viagra

The little blue pill would not be for personal use, but to serve as a reminder that Romney should spend his post-election life like Bob Dole — who became a television spokesman for the drug, in addition to dedicating himself to extensive humanitarian work — instead of following the example of John McCain, who has spent the last four years losing his credibility with every wild attack on the president.

An Empty Chair

So wherever Romney goes, he can always stay in touch.

Killing Abortion Ban Repeal

With little more than six months until Election Day, Donald Trump is preparing for an “authoritarian” presidency, and a massive, multi-million dollar operation called Project 2025, organized by The Heritage Foundation and headed by a former top Trump White House official, is proposing what it would like to be his agenda. In its 920-page policy manual the word “abortion” appears nearly 200 times.
